Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu took oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Nitin Gadkari among others.

After taking oath as Chief Minister Naidu shared a hug with PM Modi on stage.

This is the fourth time that Naidu is assuming charge as Andhra Chief Minister and the second time after the bi-furcation in 2014.

Naidu became chief minister first in 1995, before the Andhra bifurcation and he led the state until 2004 for nine consecutive years. The TDP supremo returned as the chief minister of the bifurcated Andhra in 2014 and served until 2019

Andhra governor S Abdul Nazeer, former Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundarajan were present at the swearing-in.
Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh, Union Minister Rammohan Naidu, actors Chiranjeevi, Rajnikanth, Nandamuri Balakrishna were also present on occasion.

Naidu had led the TDP- BJP-Janasena National Democratic Alliance to a landslide victory in the Assembly as well as parliamentary elections.

TDP holds the majority in Andhra Pradesh 175-member assembly with 135 MLAs, while its allies, the Janasena Party, has 21 and BJP has eight. The opposition YSR Congress Party has 11 legislators.

As per a list released by the TDP, the Cabinet will have 21 MLAs from the TDP, three from the Janasena Party and one from the BJP.

The TDP MLAs who will be taking oaths include Nara Lokesh, Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, Nimmala Ramanaidu, NMD Farooq, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Payyavula Kesav, Kollu Ravindra, Ponguru Narayana, Vangalapudi Anita, Anagani Satya Prasad, Kolusu Parthasaradhi, Kola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy, Gottipati Ravi, Gummadi Sandhyarani, BC Janardhan Reddy, TG Bharath, S Savitha, Vasamsetty Subhash, Kondapalli Srinivas and Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy.

Konidela Pawan Kalyan, Nadendla Manohar and Kandula Durgesh will be swearing-in as ministers representing the Janasena Party, while Satya Kumar Yadav is the lone MLA from BJP taking oath today as minister in the Naidu cabinet.

Andhra Pradesh New CM Chandrababu Naidu Oath Taking Ceremony Live: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu took oath as the new Andhra Pradesh CM for a fourth term this morning. In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 24 other ministers including Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Konidela Pawan Kalyan, and TDP national general secretary and Naidu’s son N Lokesh Naidu were also sworn in. The 25-member Cabinet has three women ministers, 12 members from Other Category, 8 Backward Class, 2 Scheduled Caste, one Scheduled Tribe and one Muslim.

The swearing-in ceremony was held near Kesarapalli IT Park at Gannavaram in Krishna district. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other ministers including Jagat Prakash Nadda, Nitin GadkariChirag Paswan and Bandi Sanjay Kumar were also present. Naidu was unanimously elected the National Democratic Alliance’s Leader of the House at a meeting held at Vijayawada on Tuesday, after JanaSena Party chief K Pawan Kalyan proposed his name. Following this, alliance leaders from the TDP, BJP and JanaSena met Governor S Abdul Nazeer, staking their claim to form the government in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election Results: Naidu’s TDP contested the polls along with Pawan Kalyan’s JSP and the BJP in the state, as part of the NDA. The alliance achieved a landslide victory, bagging 164 out of the 175 seats in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. The TDP won 135 seats, with the JSP and BJP winning 21 and 8 seats, respectively. Announcing a major change right before taking oath as the CM, Naidu confirmed that the new government would make Amaravati the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Telugu cinema superstar Chiranjeevi on Wednesday referred to Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, in separate social media posts, as “Deputy Chief Minister” of Andhra Pradesh, as reported by PTI

Pawan Kalyan was administered the oath of office as a minister in the cabinet of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Congratulations to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri@ncbn Ji, Deputy Chief Minister Shri@PawanKalyan ji, and all others who took the oath of office today. It is my firm belief that the NDA government will pivot the state of Andhra Pradesh to new heights of prosperity, fulfilling the aspirations and hopes of the people,” Shah said in his post.

Similarly, Pawan Kalyan’s actor brother, while conveying wishes to the new chief minister and minister said, “Best wishes to Deputy CM @PawanKalyan Konidala Pawan Kalyan and the rest of the cabinet.” Chiranjeevi further said he hopes and strongly believes that the cabinet will utilise the opportunity for the all-round development of Andhra Pradesh.
